Life of the network - 2023 continued
Following on from our first retrospective of early 2023, here's a look back at the rest of this year, rich in events, networking activities and discoveries.
Our activities
After our much-appreciated visits to Distillerie Morand and Banque Swissquote at the start of the year, we headed off to Saignelégier (JU) to discover the Maurice Lacroix manufacture.
Renowned for the excellence of their watches, we had the privilege of discovering their manufacture thanks to an exceptional guided tour during which Maurice Lacroix shared with us their passion and expertise in watchmaking, from design to production, right through to the sale of their watches. We'd like to thank them warmly for their hospitality which made this visit so memorable and unique.
We would also like to thank Maurice Lacroix for their long-standing support and remind you that our contributing members benefit from a 30% discount on a selection of their watches.

Special event: FIBA 3×3 World Tour Lausanne Masters
At the end of August, our basketball-loving members were invited by our partner Maurice Lacroix to a private sports morning where they had the chance to take on the Lausanne 3/3 team in mini-tournaments, followed by a VIP front-row seat for the final round of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour. A unique opportunity full of emotion!
Since mid-April, the HEC Lausanne Clubs have been buzzing with activity with over 20 Afterworks organized and the promise of many more to come. Our Ambassadors are hard at work! Meals, afterworks, mini-conferences, from Lausanne to Geneva via Zürich, Basel, London, Montreal... these meetings are the perfect opportunity to meet new people and expand your network.
And in a spirit of expansion and dynamism, we're delighted to have seen the creation of the Real Estate Club and the Junior Entreprise Alumni Club, the rebirth of the Shanghai Club and the 50th anniversary of the Club Historique de Genève (Geneva Historical Club)!

On June 2nd, over 80 members gathered in Nyon to share a convivial and festive evening on the shores of the lake.

The Golf Trophy co-organized by HEC Alumni and the Prix Christophe Pralong remains "THE annual golf outing not to be missed". Once again, participants enjoyed a beautiful autumn day, a magnificent course, lots of good spirit and a 100% Valaisan raclette and wine at the turn.
Prix Christophe Pralong & Prix Olivier Cadot Evening
On November 7th, the winners of the Christophe Pralong & Olivier Cadot 2023 Prizes presented their projects. Feedback from the winners was followed by a conference by Alisée de Tonnac, HEC'08, Co-Founder & Co-CEO @ Seedstars, and a networking aperitif hosted by the HEC Faculty.

Graduation celebrations and ceremonies
Graduation ceremonies are an important moment not only for Graduates, but also for the HEC Lausanne Alumni Association. It's during these celebrations that Graduates officially go from being "HEC Students" to "HEC Graduates" and it's always an honor for us to officially welcome them into the Alumni Association!
Several ceremonies are held at the end of the year:
On November 18th and 19th, the 2023 Masters and Bachelors graduation celebrations were held at Amphimax. Pride and joy, and even relief for some, were evident on the faces of all the Graduates. We had the pleasure of handing out their hats with Alumni tassels, one by one, and congratulating them. They then took to the stage to shake hands with our Dean, Marianne Schmid Mast, and finished with the traditional hat toss at the end of the ceremony.

Not forgetting the ceremony dedicated to doctoral students, as well as the one for holders of a CAS or DAS from HEC Executive Education.
This year, we welcomed over 700 new Alumni to our community. We wish them full success for their future.
This year's Alumni Association stand was a resounding success with over 100 students coming to receive advice on networking. A way of supporting students in their search for internships or jobs, and an opportunity to remind them of the importance of networking in general, and the HEC Alumni network in particular.

It's been 18 months since we launched our new website, complete with a dedicated platform for our members. Did you know that our agenda is visible on the public page, but that most other features are not? So if you haven't already done so, activate your account, log in and enjoy the following benefits:
Directory - only paying members have access to this module. It allows you to find old friends or see if there are other alumni nearby.
Agenda - you can view and register directly for all our events.
Job offers - we offer you a selection of job offers, some of which are not visible on other platforms. As a paying member, you can publish your own job offers directly and free of charge.
Clubs - join your favorite Clubs and take part in their events. Some Clubs are only visible to members who are logged on to the platform.

Mentoring - Alumni can create their own Mentor profile, and students as well as recent Graduates can choose which Mentor they would like to work with and submit their "application". It's up to the Mentor to accept or reject.

Magazine
You are now reading the 1st issue of number 96, whose Special Report is entitled "Pioneers since 1911", the result of a project of the same name launched a few months ago by the Association. The idea is to retrace the past, present and future of HEC around a theme dear to our Faculty, which will change every year. This issue of the Magazine is about Léon Walras and this first edition focuses in particular on the past of his subject "Théorie critique de l'Impôt" ("Critical Theory of Taxation").
