Launch of the Career Connect Program: Preparing the Future of HEC Lausanne Talent
At HEC Lausanne, we firmly believe that academic excellence must go hand in hand with solid preparation for professional life. In line with this commitment, we are pleased to introduce Career Connect—a dynamic and multifaceted program designed to support our students as they face the challenges of entering the job market, while also strengthening ties with you, our Alumni.
What is Career Connect?
It is a comprehensive initiative primarily aimed at second-year Master’s students in Finance (MScF) and Management (MScM), while also offering certain components open to the entire HEC Lausanne student community.
The program is built on three key pillars:
1.“Career Preparation Program”
Developed by the HEC Lausanne Career Center, this pillar includes a masterclass on writing an impactful resumé and preparing a compelling pitch. This mandatory course is complemented by interactive pitch clinics and an online drop-in service for personalized advice. These activities, tailored for second-year MScF and MScM students, help them better communicate their personal brand and gain confidence during networking events.
2. Networking Opportunities and Job Dating
The Career Networking Fair, held annually during the fall semester, allows all HEC students to meet a wide range of employers and gain valuable insights into potential career paths.
Following the fair, the Meet and Match job dating event—exclusively for second-year MScF and MScM students—takes place. Participants engage in short 6-minute interviews, creating direct contact with recruiters for potential job or internship opportunities. The meetings are organized using a specially designed matchmaking algorithm.
3. Alumni - Student & recent Graduates Mentoring Program
Open to all HEC Lausanne students and recent Graduates, this program—initiated by the Alumni Association—connects students and recent Graduates with Alumni active in various industries. It’s a valuable opportunity to receive professional guidance, expand one’s network, and foster meaningful exchanges.
A Program Built on Collaboration
Career Connect reflects our belief that successful careers are not built in isolation and is rooted in one of our core values: collaboration. By bringing together students, alumni, and professionals from the economic world, we are creating a collaborative ecosystem that supports the lifelong professional development of our graduates.
We strongly encourage you to get involved in the program—whether as mentors, guest speakers in career workshops, representatives of your organization at the Career Networking Fair, or as participants in the Meet and Match event. Your experience and support are invaluable in preparing the next generation of HEC leaders.
