From Summer Rays to Christmas Markets: A Look Back at the HEC Lausanne Alumni Club Events!

The HEC Lausanne Alumni Association is fortunate to rely on its numerous Clubs which act as true engines of our community’s life across the globe. Thanks to them, afterworks and a variety of conferences have energized our exchanges throughout the seasons. These afterworks provided the perfect opportunity to reconnect with fellow members, delve into current topics and expand professional networks.

Let’s reflect on these shared moments that brightened our summer evenings and helped us face rainy days and autumn chills with a smile!

Data & Digitalization Club: Inspiring Speakers and an Exciting 2025 Program

The HEC Data & Digitalization Alumni Club explored various industries, highlighting the crucial importance of data. From medicine to the Olympics, Raphaël Ménard, our Ambassador, brought together diverse speakers who shared their expertise. And that’s not all! He is already preparing an exciting program for 2025.

Highlights of the Second Semester Afterwork-Conferences:

September 3rd: "Democratizing Data-Driven Medicine" with Guillaume Cettou (HEC’11), Global Head of Data Partnerships at SOPHiA GENETICS.

October 1st: "The Role of Data and AI in the Digital Strategy for Paris 2024" with Grégoire Mastrangelo, Head of the Insights & Analytics Unit at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and member of the AI Steering Committee.

December 3rd: "Business Reinvention Fueled by Digital and AI: Nestlé Health Science’s Journey to Modern Business Operations" with Florent Badoux (HEC'04), Global Head of Digital, eCommerce, and Digital Health at Nestlé Health Science.

Geneva Club: Gourmet and Festive Gatherings à la Carte

The traditional weekly lunches every Wednesday at the Café de l’Hôtel de Ville and the quarterly “Perch Fillet Lunches” organized by Jean-François Girard for over 50 years continue to mark the weeks for Geneva-based members.

In addition, with the usual afterworks on the first Thursday of each month, Bérénice Jaccard and Anthony Vu have gone the extra mile to bring Geneva Alumni together in various bars and restaurants across the city. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the exchanges have been rich and engaging, providing the perfect opportunity to reconnect with former classmates over a drink or a fondue at the Christmas at the Quais event.

Club Lausanne: The Meetings are back!

The HEC Lausanne Alumni Club in Lausanne made a comeback after several months of pause. To mark this return, an afterwork event was organized on a rooftop in the Olympic capital, bringing together various Alumni. The sun was shining, making it the perfect way to unwind after a busy workday.

Basel Club: A Historic Venue for a Memorable Afterwork

To mark the end of summer, the HEC Lausanne Alumni Club in Basel, led by our dedicated Ambassadors Fengyue Hu and Cyril Racchetta, gathered by the Rhine at the city's first bar and cultural center. It was the perfect opportunity to admire one of the last sunsets of the Indian summer, while sharing good times with former classmates and reminiscing about fond memories.

Not to mention the meetup at the Christmas Market to kick off the year-end festivities.

Real Estate Club: Digital Marketing at the Service of Real Estate

Thibault Rhenter and Mathieu Nidegger, Ambassadors of the Alumni HEC Lausanne Real Estate Club, had the honour of hosting Joel Lopez for an afterwork conference on a highly topical subject: digital marketing and attracting clients via social networks in the real estate sector. The event was a great success with the participants.

Zürich Club: Convivial Afterwork beyond the Röstigraben

A warm and relaxed atmosphere at the HEC Lausanne Alumni Club in Zurich afterworks! The quartet of Ambassadors, Delphine Andreae, Pauline Rosenblatt, Josselin Meylan and Alexis Valenza, regularly bring together around twenty former HEC Lausanne students in the heart of Zurich. Whether it's for a drink in October or a glass of mulled wine to warm up at the Christmas Market in December, these events are always a success! Unfortunately, no photos were taken, but as they say, you had to be there to enjoy it!

In Switzerland and beyond!

London Club: Reunion at the Swiss Embassy!

The London Alumni were honoured to be invited by the Swiss Ambassador to the UK, Mr Markus Leitner, and Mrs Doris Leitner, to their annual Afterwork Networking event. It was a unique opportunity to meet up with other Swiss expatriates in the UK.

Singapore Club: Meeting at the Swiss Embassy!

Alumni in Singapore had the privilege of attending the Swiss Alumni Evening at the Swiss Embassy.  An ideal opportunity to renew old friendships, build new professional relationships and celebrate Swiss education!

Club New York

Members of the HEC Alumni Club in New York met for Swiss Alumni Night in New York City, an evening of networking for alumni and former affiliates of Swiss universities, organised by the Consulate General of Switzerland in New York and Swissnex.

A second opportunity to meet was offered to Alumni in Cambridge for the Swissnex End of Year Celebration.

A huge thank you to our Ambassadors!

Without them, all these wonderful meetings would not have taken place. They keep our Association alive throughout Switzerland and beyond, maintaining the link that unites us all.

As we approach the end of the year, our various Clubs have plenty of surprises in store for 2025! To make sure you don't miss any of our upcoming events, don't hesitate to follow us on our social networks and check our website regularly!
